What is Invisalign made of?


Invisalign clear aligners are made with the help of BPA-free plastic or something called “polyurethane resins”. These resins are actually a blend of methylene diphenyl diisocyanate and 1.6-hexanediol. When compared with metal braces, Invisalign aligners are very comfortable.

What is an Invisalign passive aligner?


The retention aligners are also called “passive” Invisalign aligners. They do not work to move your teeth any further; instead they lock your bite into place. The retention aligners work in a similar way of standard orthodontic retainers.

What happens when you finish your Invisalign trays?


In one year after your last invisalign trays, the bone is entirely deposited around the teeth being aligned. They are, therefore, stable. Within the one year period, you have to regularly wear your retainers to maintain the shape of the teeth since the bone hasn't developed enough.

The buttons are colored to match the shade of your teeth, so that they are not very noticeable.

What is the purpose of chewies for Invisalign?


The purpose of invisalign chewies is to eliminate the air space between the invisalign aligner and the teeth and provide a better fit. It provides a uniform force to seat the aligner properly.

What helps with sore teeth from Invisalign?

  2. Use an ice pack
  3. Avoid eating hard foods
  4. Use over the counter painkillers
  5. Use topical pain killer that can be applied to your teeth directly
  6. Do not remove your aligners too often
  7. Make sure your Invisalign aligner is seated correctly

How to clean Invisalign?


You can follow these three methods to clean the Invisalign aligners.

First method: Brush the Invisalign trays lightly using a toothbrush dipped in baking soda to remove tough stains and any build-up

Second method: Fill a small bowl with half warm water and half hydrogen peroxide. Soak your Invisalign trays for two hours or overnight to make them clear

Third method: Soak your invisalign trays in a half water/vinegar solution for about 30 minutes

How to use Invisalign cleaning crystals?

  1. Pre-rinse your Invisalign aligner with lukewarm water to remove leftover food particles
  2. Fill your Invisalign cleaning cup with lukewarm water to fully submerge your aligners
  3. Empty the packet of cleaning crystals into the cup
  4. Place the Invisalign aligners in the solution
  5. Soak it for about 15 minutes and then remove it
  6. Take the aligners out of the cup
  7. Rinse them with lukewarm water, so that no crystals are stuck on the aligners
  8. Take a soft toothbrush, brush and rinse the aligners under tap water to remove any debris still stuck to them
  9. Give a final rinse in warm water and dry the Invisalign aligners

How to hide Invisalign attachments?


Avoid stain-causing food and drinks and brush your teeth regularly. By following this, you can keep your attachments less visible.

How long do you need to wear Invisalign retainers?


Most of the dentists recommend the patients to wear the invisalign retainers for 12 to 22 hours a day - every day - for 3 to 6 months.

When does Invisalign stop hurting?


Any discomfort you experience with invisalign aligners usually only lasts for a few days.

When do you see Invisalign results?


A patient might not see changes / visible results in one or two weeks. Invisalign aligns the teeth gradually. Most of the patients can notice the difference within 10 to 12 weeks.
