The use of telemedicine is quickly growing across the world. Dentulu offers telemedicine services and has been providing uninterrupted oral health care services for over a decade. By using telemedicine, we are successfully addressing patients’ oral care concerns. Dentulu has been delivering high-quality dental care consistently across Los Angeles. The game-changer here is telemedicine. It provides oral care services to rural locations and other underserved areas. Given the shortage of dentists, telemedicine has emerged as a significant tool to fill the gap. Even startup clinics and those want to venture into dental practice are using telemedicine. They are serving millions of patients who are otherwise deprived of primary and secondary health care centers.

Telemedicine is very helpful for patients in rural areas because they would otherwise need to travel a long distance to get access to dental care. This technology ensures that patients can get in touch with a dentist as needed through video conferencing methods. Telemedicine functions as a sort of triage, where patients are treated through a virtual consultation. By using teledentistry, patients can send vital information such as dental X-rays and images to their dentist. This kind of treatment is helpful for those who need physical attention after the primary screening through teledentistry. Telemedicine helps reduce traffic to overcrowded health care centers.

A few months ago, the application of telemedicine was confined to serving people in the remotest locations. However, with the advent of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, telemedicine has been increasingly used by people from both rural and urban locations. This is because people are unwilling to visit a clinic in person, where they have a chance of infection due to the virus. Moreover, with the government’s suggestion to stay at home, telemedicine is the first and viable choice to communicate with dentists and related care professionals. The present pandemic is so devastating that health care centers are now opting to use teleconsultation services for the safety of their staff and patients.

As of now, telemedicine helps people in two ways. The first way is by facilitating medical care to people without having them visit brick and mortar health centers. The second way that telemedicine helps is that it provides medical advisory to suspected COVID-19 patients along with the guidelines for self-quarantine. Telemedicine also helps in rendering diagnostic services. People who are in need of dental care treatment must log in to the Dentulu app and create an appointment with their dentist in order to get a consultation.

Telemedicine has been hailed as a revolutionary tool by medical professionals. The best part of this tool is that patients are able to get 24/7 access to communicate with an ADA licensed dentist. If the patient has a smartphone, then communicating with the dentist is very easy regardless of where they are located. In the current situation, telemedicine helps in screening the patients. Patients with serious symptoms are advised to go for testing and have a necessary examination by a doctor. Dentulu has a network of qualified dentists who adhere to the protocols related to treatment. Dentulu’s objective is to provide quality care to patients even from a distance.
